  38. Not likely, last time I checked all of their 288 products use HW
  39. support for compression and EC.  There might be a problem negotiating
  40. the protocol stack during the connection.  Have the user disable MNP
  41. by using this string to init the PPI modem:

  45. That should work for all instances.
